I can’t risk you not seeing this video. And yes, that is me on the right.
Rather thoughtful, no? August 1, 2008
We have been wandering around Seoul etc. for the last few days and today I am too tired to go anywhere but maybe for a hike, so I am forced to do a post, I guess. Just kidding, not being forced. I missed you, intertubes! I am sorry I have forsaken you. But look! We found a store named after me! How cool is that?
O.k. so yesterday we went to the pancake place again, where I ORDERED FRUIT AND YOGURT. Either remind me how ridiculous I can be or congratulate me on having some self-control. Then we got lost wandered around a bit until we found decided to hop back on the subway and head to the giant book store with the miniature English section where we bought a Thailand travel book (!) and some Vonnegut (!). We walked through a park dedicated to a war with Japan, and found National Treasure Number 2 there. The pictures obviously don’t do it justice, but I guess National Treasures need to be preserved in glass. Way to ruin the shot, Korea.
We were hot and sticky but managed to get in a good schlepper pic:
Please note how delighted I am that Sweaty Jake is touching me.
Anyway, we didn’t get home until about 9pm, had dinner, watched L&O (of course!) and then hosed off, except, wait, what is that coming out of the probably cow whale bone we found on the beach? Of course. A million tiny, yellow worms. And they’re ALL OVER THE BATHROOM. Yum. And if you know Jake at all, you know I dealt with the whole fiasco, while he stood on the kitchen chair for 30 minutes, shaking. The man does not like worms, but thankfully, I LOVE THEM SO IT WASN’T HORRIFYING AT ALL, WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN THE BATHROOM. Eh, hem. Sorry–no accompanying photo for this episode.
Here’s a pic of our sweet new booming sound system. It cost $20, but believe me when I tell you it sounds likes it’s worth AT LEAST $35.
